die phil seccer band ist, neben der hauptarbeit als begleit-band von phil seccer, seit 2011 auch auf solo tournee unterwegs. die neu erfundene spielart wird von den drei bandmitgliedern „acoustic-vintage“ genannt.

dazu ein auszug aus dem duden:

“[acoustic-vintage]: in einer besetzung wie vor über 65 jahren werden nur mit akustischen instrumenten wie gitarre, mandoline, kontrabass und kazoo klassiker aus blues, rock, pop und auch traditionals gespielt. muss man gehört haben!”

“acoustic-vintage” ist eine skurrile interpretation von liedern wie sie unterschiedlicher nicht sein könnte. johnny cashs “folsom prison blues” und “missisippi mudd” von hank williams III sind da sicherlich nichts aussergewöhnliches.

aber mit “crazy little thing called love” und “fat bottomed girls” von queen, michael jacksons “black or white” bis hin zu „acdc“, wird die ungewöhnliche art der musikvariation deutlich.

erdig und direkt geht die musik auf den zuhörer über. was als “relax and listen” beginnt wird schnell zu einem mitgrooven – bis der letzte hut an der bar mitwippt.

while phil seccer visiting germany, he met three local musicians that coincidentally played a similar style of music to his own. they hit it off straight away and audition for the germans was inevitable. a successful session resultet in phil forming his backing band, “phil seccer band”.

from this moment on, the three german band members were professionally known as Rusty “Wag” Beam, Pete W. Daniels and Dave Walker.

2011 the “phil seccer band” began the “take ya hats tour” which will lead the band around the world. in their vintage acoustic style, the tour consists of a pure cover programm. enjoy a show and…
